Relaxation techniques encompass a variety of methods, such as meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, yoga, among others. A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of these techniques on university professors, with the aim of identifying their main benefits, limitations, and potential applications within the educational field. To this end, a methodology based on a systematic review was applied, following the guidelines of the PRISMA model. The information search was conducted in recognized scientific databases, such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. As an inclusion criterion, 19 scientific articles published between January 2020 and January 2025, written in English or Spanish, that addressed the use of relaxation techniques in educational settings were selected. The results showed that the application of these techniques contributes to reducing stress levels and promoting the overall well-being of university professors. Strategies such as mindfulness, yoga, aerobic exercises, and virtual reality have been shown to be useful in preventing burnout syndrome in the workplace. However, its implementation presents certain logistical difficulties, and additional research is required to strengthen the evidence of its effectiveness.
